April was an exciting and positive month in my life, with the last two weeks being crazy and life-changing, so I haven’t been too active here and on social media – but I promise I am working on it. These are just a few of the things I’ve been loving this month.

Collaboration between Wiid Design and Cermaic Matters
This collaboration between Wiid Design and Cermaic Matters was revealed at Decorex in Cape Town, as part of the 100% Design exhibit. The furniture range features two sides tables and a dining table, in ceramic, steel and timber. The unique exploration of material cohesion, the beautiful patterning and textures, as well as the simple form make this an incredible and exciting collaboration and my pick for product of the month.

9 by Cashmere Cat
‘9’ by Cashmere Cat is filled with exciting collaborations, experimental production, new and interesting sounds, and it is like nothing I’ve ever heard before. I first heard of Cashmere Cat on Ariana Grande’s album, ‘My Everything’, and then on a later collaboration Adore – and this album shares the DJ’s talent and just what makes him stand out in the music industry. My favourites off the album include ‘Quit’ with Ariana, ‘Love Incredible’ with Camila Cabello, and ‘Plz Don’t Go’ with Jhené Aiko – what are yours?

13 Reasons Why
A story about real-life issues and the affect our unkindness can have on the lives of others. Many praise the series for shedding a light on suicide, school bullying and mental illness, while others criticize it for the harm that could be caused by just how real and honest the show is. I think it is an incredibly intense, but important show that shares the reality of high school bullying and how words can truly harm a person. 13 Reasons Why is a reminder to always be kind, and to try and be there for those who need it, even when they say they don’t.

Holding Up The Universe by Jennifer Niven
He can’t recognise faces. She hasn’t been out of the house for months. An unlikely story of love, truth and courage, that’ll inspire you to be and love yourself, and to see others for who they truly are – which is more than just their appearance. Jennifer Niven has written another beautiful novel that speaks to us all. ‘Holding Up The Universe’ is a special and memorable book that reminds us that we are all wanted, necessary and loved – a book I believe everyone should read and know.
